Tea Infusing Guidelines

For best results, use fresh, filtered, cold water and bring to a boil (190-205 for black, herbals and rooibos, 170-185 for white, green and oolong teas).

Tip:  A very simple way to judge water temperature is to bring the water to a boil, turn off kettle, wait 30 seconds and use.  For green and oolong teas, wait about 1 additional minute, for white teas wait 2 minutes.  This time should allow the water to cool enough below the boiling point to reach more optimum temperatures  before infusion.

Measure 1 teaspoon of our premium loose leaf tea per 6-8oz of water and place in infuser basket, tea filter or teapot.  Our teas are so fresh that our customers often find they need only 1/2tsp per cup.

Infusion times:
Black tea: 3-5 minutes
Green Tea: 2-4 minutes
White Tea:  3-6 minutes
Rooibos:  4 minutes
Herbals: 5 minutes
Fruit Tisanes: 6-8 minutes

Tip: Many new tea drinkers over infuse their tea, especially green.  Remember, pale color does not equate weak flavor!  Be sure to experiment with additional infusions of the same tea leaves.  Add about 30 seconds per infusion.
